16. EWAN'S ADVENT MESSAGE: Me and brother Rory received a letter each from Santa yesterday. I am really sus about this guy. Would you trust someone with a beard and a red suit who can only be troubled to work one day a year? I’ve seen him three or four times now and he writes to me as if none of those meetings took place. I hope I get more than a letter from him. I think he could be a con merchant. He’s persuaded mum and dad to send all my presents to him. He sends me a letter and I bet we never see the presents again.
17. GEORGE'S ADVENT MESSAGE: The Christmas tree is up. My, it is big from where I’m looking. I’ve learnt to crawl too. But I can’t reach things on the tree very well. So I did my first press up. Easy peasy. But things are high up on the tree. To get them I am going to have to pull myself up by the tree. I keep hearing chocolate is so tasty to eat. But they don’t allow me any. I nearly got some of mamma’s chocolate birthday cake, but old as she is she was too quick and stopped me. Loads of the tree decorations are made of chocolate. I crave to taste chocolate. Maybe if I lie under the tree long enough one will fall off. Sister Freya may get me one.
12 CONTENDERS FOR THE CHRISTMAS 2016 No.1
What will the 2016 Christmas No.1 be? Here are some of the favourites.
1.Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choiry
With less than a month to go until the big day, the race is on to find out who will claim the Christmas number one single. Every year, a mixture of choirs, charity singles, reality show contestants and novelty bands all compete for the top spot - and 2016 is no different. Last year's chart toppers were the Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir (pictured) with A Bridge Over You. Here are some of the contenders for this year's title.
2. X Factor finalistsPA
The X Factor winner's single has topped the Christmas chart seven times since 2005 - four of them in consecutive years. But the show's grip on Christmas sales is beginning to loosen, with Forever Young, the single by last year's victor Louisa Johnson, having to settle for number nine in the Christmas chart. This year's finalists are (left to right), Matt Terry, Emily Middlemas, Saara Alto and 5 After Midnight. Whichever act wins will be a strong candidate in this year's race.
3. Sir Cliff Richard
Sir Cliff Richard has spent four Christmases at number one, including with hits Mistletoe and Wine and Saviour's Day. He returns to the chart race this year with It's Better To Dream (Christmas Mix).
4. Laura Mvula
This year's chart battle includes a plethora of songs featured prominently in Christmas adverts. One Day I'll Fly Away by Vaults was chosen as this year's soundtrack to John Lewis's annual festive advert, while Laura Mvula's latest single Ready or Not is heard in House of Fraser's effort.
5. James Corden
Another Christmas advert soundtrack which could pose a challenge is The Greatest Gift, recorded by Late Late Show host James Corden. The song, written by Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords, features on the Sainsbury's advert.
6. Trolls - DreamWorks Animation
If you fancy an outside bet, it might be worth looking in the direction of Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, whose latest film Trolls (pictured) sees them duet on a cover of Cyndi Lauper's True Colours. It's one to tug at the heartstrings, which is something that certainly goes down well at Christmas.
7. Jeremy Corbyn
If you like your Christmases a little more political, then Robb Johnson and his Corbynistas have come up with their own effort. Their track is JC for PM for Me, a tribute to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, with profits from the song going to charity. It is up against You Needed a Hero - You Got Corbyn, taken from Corbyn the Musical.
8. Politicians singing
A charity single in memory of the Labour MP Jo Cox, who was murdered in June, will also be released in time for the Christmas chart. Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs and KT Tunstall have been joined by MPs including Tracy Brabin, who now represents Cox's Batley and Spen constituency, to record a cover of The Rolling Stones' You Can't Always Get What You Want under the name Friends of Jo Cox.
9. Clean Bandit and Rae SremmurThe victorious single this year could, of course, be a song that has already been out for a few weeks. With streaming data now incorporated in the official charts, this year's Christmas countdown should - in theory - be more reflective of what people are actually listening to rather than buying. Could the current number one single, Rockabye by Clean Bandit (left), hang on a few more weeks, or could Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles, which has been a huge chart hit in the US, be in with a chance?
10.London Hospices ChoirLondon Hospices Choir
Choirs have become a familiar staple of the chart in recent years - with the Military Wives and the NHS choirs both scoring Christmas number ones. This year, the London Hospices Choir - made up of patients, staff and volunteers from 18 hospices in the capital - have covered Mike & The Mechanic's The Living Years, with proceeds going to support the hospice network.
11. The Shires
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke may have topped the Christmas chart in 2008 with Hallelujah, but UK country duo The Shires think they can go one better, or indeed, a thousand times better. Their new single A Thousand Hallelujahs is released on 9 December.
12. Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue is releasing a "Snow Queen edition" of her Christmas album this year - with a new single to accompany it. Could her festive cover of Everybody's Free (To Feel Good) finally give Kylie a Christmas number one?

When I was a lad at school around 13 years old, our Maths teacher used to call me Wol. At the end of the year as we were moving up a class I plucked up courage to ask why he called me Wol. He told meit was thename of the deslexic owl in Winnie the Pooh. With my Harry Potter glasses he said I looked like the Wise Old Owl in the Winnie the Pooh stories.
Being the vain person I am I took it as a compliment
